Guhyasamaja
The Secret Assembly

Guhyasamaja means 'Secret Union' or 'Assembly of
the Secret Ones' (Tib. Sangwa-dupa). Guhyasamaja
is also know as'King of Tantras'.

In Tibet, Guhyasamaja is particularly favored by
the Geluk Order, most likely for the antiquity of his texts. The Guhyasamaja Tantra was one of te first Sanskrit works to be translated into Tibetan in the
8th century. It serves the Buddhist practitioner in understanding and practising Tantric Buddhism.

Guhyasamaja betekent 'Geheime Vereniging'
(Tib. Sangwa-dupa). Guhyasamaja staat ook bekend als de'Koning van de Tantra's'.

In Tibet is Guhyasamaja vooral favoriet bij de Gelukpa traditie, waarschijnlijk vanwege de ouderdom van de teksten. De Guhyasamaja Tantra was een van de eerste werken in Sanskrit die in het Tibetaans zijn vertaald in de 8e eeuw. Het schiet de Boeddhistische beoefenaar ten hulp in het begrijpen en beoefenen van het Tantrisch Boeddhisme.
